At the University of Bayreuth, Dr Sebastian Schmitt studied environmental science, focusing on analytical techniques in aquatic and atmospheric environments. Thereafter, he worked at Forschungszentrum Jülich focusing on secondary organic aerosol in the atmospheric simulation chambers of the Institute for Energy and Climate and received his PhD in cooperation between Jülich and the University of Bayreuth. Since 2018, Sebastian has been employed as an application engineer by TSI GmbH, Aachen, and he supports customers with his aerosol expertise. Moreover, Sebastian acts as Treasurer of the Gesellschaft für Aerosolforschung and most recently co-founded the diamond open-access journal Aerosol Research.
