Professor Foley is Chair of Net Zero Infrastructure at The University of Manchester, Managing Executive Editor of Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews (Elsevier), editorial board member of Scientific Reports (Nature) and editorial panel member of Proceedings in Transport (Institution of Civil Engineers). Her research focus is energy systems analysis. Before academia, she spent half her thirty-year career in industry delivering complex infrastructure projects. From 2011 to 2023, she was a Lecturer, Reader and Professor at Queen’s University Belfast. Between 2006 and 2011, she was a part-time and full-time Lecturer and Environmental Protection Agency Senior Research Fellow at University College Cork.
