Martin Fierz is a 53-year-old physicist with a PhD from ETH Zürich. He worked for 15 years at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland on nanoparticle measurement and instrumentation and is now a professor of Physics there. In 2012, he co-founded naneos particle solutions, a company that builds nanoparticle detectors based on diffusion charging. He is the inventor of multiple nanoparticle detectors, such as the DiSCmini, the Partector and the Partector 2. Sensors of naneos have also been used in one of the world’s leading on-road particle number emissions measuring systems.
